The new Dynamics 365 Customer Insights is sold on a prepaid capacity model, where capacity is pooled at the tenant level. It has two capacity units: People Interacted (equivalent to the previous “marketable contact” unit in Dynamics 365 Marketing) that powers the use of Customer Insights – Journeys. People Unified (equivalent to the previous “profile” meter in Dynamics 365 Customers Insights) which powers Customer Insights – Data.

What is Dynamics 365 Customer Insights?

Dynamics 365 Customer Insights now combines both Dynamics 365 Marketing and Customer Insights. This module is not just for marketers anymore. It unifies customer data with personalized journeys. While the name is unchanged, the new Customer Insights offering is expanded to include both the Customer Insights – Journeys (formerly Dynamics 365 Marketing) and Customer Insights – Data (formerly the standalone Customer Insights) applications.

It lays the foundation to create truly personalized, responsive, and connected customer journeys across sales, marketing, and service teams.

Dynamics 365 Customer Insights – Journeys (formerly known as Dynamics 365 Marketing) is a comprehensive marketing and customer engagement tool. It enables you to create and execute campaigns across multiple channels, including emails, SMS, push notifications, and more. D365 Customer Insights – Journeys helps organizations personalize interactions and communications at every stage of the customer lifecycle.

D365 Customer Insights – Data (formerly known as Dynamics 365 Customer Insights) provides organizations with deep insights into their customer data. It unifies and enriches customer data with a Customer Data Platform (CDP) to gain insights into customer behaviors, preferences, and interactions. This enables organizations to make more informed strategic decisions that meet and exceed customer expectations.

Dynamics 365 Customer Insights first creates a customer data platform for your business and stores all the data related to your customer in it. Then using Artificial Intelligence technology, the platform allows businesses to automate the process of creating data channels. This way businesses can also control the relationships between different information and data channels. Once the data is gathered, the system runs it through a unification process to create a customer profile. Businesses can also export this data to other applications. After all customer profiles are created, the AI turns that data into meaningful actionable insights and recommends you the best products to use as you carry out your customer-related tasks. All these customer insights are then used to improve ongoing marketing campaigns and create better ones in the future.

Microsoft Dynamics 365 Customer Insights allows businesses to create dynamic customer segments with AI-driven, real-time data updates and boosts engagement by delivering personalized experiences through AI-driven channel selection. Starting September 1, 2023, Microsoft introduced a new Dynamics 365 Customer Insights licensing model that unified Dynamics 355 Marketing and Dynamics 365 Customer Insights applications into an innovative Dynamics 365 Customer Insights platform.  The new pricing structure is based on the number of unified people and interacted people.

Dynamics 365 Customer Insights offers two powerful features: a customer data platform and real-time journey orchestration. Together, these tools empower your teams to uncover valuable insights and deliver personalized customer experiences. Copilot in Customer Insights helps eliminate fragmented data and reduces time-consuming manual content creation, while boosting team creativity with recommended content ideas. There are two main ways to get Customer Insights in Dynamics 365. The first option is to sign up for a free trial. Microsoft offers a free 30-day trial of Dynamics 365 Customer Insights. To sign up for a free Dynamics 365 Customer Insights trial, you will need to create a Microsoft account and provide your billing information.

 

The second option is purchasing a license for Dynamics 365 Customer Insights. You can opt to manage this yourself or get the support of a Microsoft Dynamics 365 Customer Insights implementation partner. Since various licensing options are available, select the one that aligns best with your specific requirements.
