Following the devastating floods that affected communities across Pakistan, access to basic healthcare remains a daily struggle for thousands of families in both rural and urban areas. As medical access remains limited, Confiz joined hands with the Al-Khidmat Foundation, donating PKR 13.9 million to establish a mobile health unit in Qadir Nagar village, Buner, ensuring essential care reaches flood-affected families.
Since its launch in 2022, the Mobile Health Unit has continued to expand its reach for flood-affected families, providing free consultations, medicines, and laboratory testing to nearly 76,000 patients across multiple regions. The unit reached Qadir Nagar village in Buner, a community devastated by a sudden cloudburst and flash floods that swept away homes and displaced hundreds of families.
Over the course of five days, the mobile health unit delivered life-saving medical assistance to nearly 550 patients in the village. Equipped with a fully functional laboratory, the unit conducted over 450 diagnostic tests, ensuring the timely detection and treatment of illnesses throughout its deployment.
The mobile unit offered a wide range of medicines and diagnostic services, supported by an on-site laboratory technician and advanced medical equipment, including a chemistry analyzer, a CBC machine, a centrifuge, and other essential diagnostic tools. This setup enabled quick, accurate results, allowing medical staff to make informed decisions for each patient.
Leading this impactful effort was Dr. Sajjal, the medical officer of the mobile health unit from D.I. Khan, who worked tirelessly alongside the team to bring quality healthcare to those most affected by the floods.
“The patients we’ve seen here are not like those from a regular OPD,” said Dr. Sajjal, the medical officer leading the camp. “Many are suffering from trauma, anxiety, and depression after losing loved ones and homes. Their emotional pain often leads to sleeplessness, headaches, and physical distress. Our mission is to treat both the body and the mind – to help them find strength again.”
Confiz extends heartfelt gratitude to Al-Khidmat Foundation and its volunteers for their unwavering commitment to serving Pakistan’s most vulnerable communities. Together, we reaffirm our belief that true transformation begins with empathy, grows through collaboration, and endures through the shared responsibility to uplift lives, restore hope, and strengthen the communities we serve, creating lasting change for a better tomorrow.
